Aluminium alloys
ORIC Italiana S.r.l. sells Alluminium alloys,
alloys that are characterized by great lightness, but by poor mechanical properties. For this reason, binding elements are introduced such as magnesium, manganese, copper, silicon, zinc which, on their own or combined, improve the resistance characteristics, in particular:
- Magnesium increases corrosion resistance in an alkaline environment and at sea
- Manganese increases mechanical resistance and corrosion
- Copper increases mechanical resistance, especially when hot
- Silicon improves castability and reduces the expansion coefficient
- Zinc, if associated with Magnesium, gives a high mechanical resistance.
- Chrome to increase corrosion resistance;
- Zirconium and Vanadium used as corrective (grain refining, blockage of impurities);
- Nickel and Titanium to increase the mechanical properties;
- Lead, Bismuth, Cadmium and Tin for other purposes;
- Iron is always present as an impurity.
